A unique pairing

As you know if you read my blog reviews, I love handbag accessories and always looking for something unique and useful to help all of us organize our busy daily life. Scouting through the Etsy shops, I happened upon Cork & Cotton which uses a fabric I would never have thought of using!

When I think of cork, I think of wine stoppers, floor and of course the cork trees we had seen in Spain. As a fabric, this was completely new to me and I was surprised how soft it is and an actual fabric like feel. What I love about the the cork fabric is that it is a renewable resource since the cork can be harvested from the bark of a tree every 10 years. And being it is nature, all cork patterns are unique so no tree is exactly alike! But enough about the whole cork fabric, lets look at Cork & Cotton designs! Carolyn who has been sewing all her life has taken this fabric and made some fun, user friendly and unique designs. Cork & Cotton features fashion forward handbags, wristlets and pouches. Carolyn pairs her cork designs with cotton print interiors that are fun, bright and appealing. I love the cork pouch with the bird sewn cork pattern. These pouches are wonderful for stashing money, cosmetics or even that pacifier you can't seem to find at the deepest part of your bag! As for a gift, how unique can you get! I guarantee this one won't be duplicated and will be a conversation piece when pulled out of a handbag or diaper bag!

I like the pouch with the appliqued circle design. We are still in the throes of potty training, and so I carry a form of diaper bag. All MY stuff disappears in it (cosmetics, cash, medications... ) something like this would be grand for catching all my things.

The bird pouch is definitely my favorite! I would probably use it more as a small clutch since it is so unique and adorable and I would want to show it off!

I really liked the pouch with the one darker rectangle on the right. I had no idea you could use cork like this! What a great shop.

I love the pouch you featured, it is so unique! I would use it for all the essentials money credit cards etc. I am always going out and sometimes its not practical to take the purse and diaper bag that would go so good with both!!! And easy to switch back and forth.

Arg, pressed enter too soon! Can you not approve one of these?

I love the bird pouch at http://websubstancemeetsstyle.today.com/2008/11/05/finding-the-perfect-blog-theme-the-tinkerers/#more-18 but I also love the flower pouch. All of her items are very beautiful.

I would use these for a pouch when I'm at school, I've been feeling rather blah lately being away from home so much. They would certainly be a good cure for the blahs!
