Stopped by, only a viewing from 2-4 with the auction at 4pm. They had plants for sale, baked goods and the Uconn ice cream was $2(free last year). What was disappointing was the raffles in which you had to be there for the drawing. I may put some feedback to the 4-H chapter on that one. I am pretty sure they have another fair later in the season because I remember buying corn stalks from them so probably September. Sorry no pictures.

We are lucky to have the Uconn Agricultural Center right down the road from us. Today they are having a 4-H Fair and Auction tonight. The Fair starts at 2pm. I am going to pop over and check it out since last year they had some raffles, master gardeners on site for any questions and a plant sale. I will post pictures after my visit.

My Aunt gave me the 'Hello, Cupcake!' book for my birthday, thank you! FYI, they do have a Hello, Cupcake! blog site for you cupcake crazed people. I will link this only under the cupcake web sites. This should be interesting trying my hand at some of the recipes.

If you shop on the web at major retailer stores, you do not always know if there are any promotions unless you are on their email lists. Rather Be Shopping offers a quick look up by retailer of any deals and codes affiliated with them. It is always good not to have to pay for shipping or get an extra percentage off!

I just want to say thanks for a great day yesterday working with a wonderful group of people at the polls. Putting our political differences aside, we were organized, well fed and enjoyed each others company! The 5am to 8pm went extremely fast considering we only had a 17% turnout. This was just a practice run, just wait until November!
Just and FYI, the budget for the school failed in Haddam and passed in Killingworth, which unfortunately pushed the budget vote to pass overall. But the message is now evident that it is time to talk about breaking away from the district school system.

Saw a Baltimore Oriole in the crab apple tree today. I hear them but never quite see them. Just an FYI, one of the really easy bird guides to use is the Golden Book "A Guild to Field Identification Birds of North America". I have a lot of guides and this one I seem to go back to the most.
