Congratulations and please email me your address and choice of Artgoodies Tea Towel.
Aloha Friday is sponsored by An Island Life.
I might as well put my two cents in, since a few have asked. I do believe in ghosts, but have never seen or really experienced one. I think living in Maui certainly spurred it more, with the stories of the "white Lady" ghost and many spiritual places that are throughout the island.
Dirt Girl Pottery has offered a spoon rest of your choice to one random winner. See rules below.

No one seems to just give a gift wrapped in paper anymore. wrapped gifts are often embellished with bows, ribbons, straw, and gift tags. I found a neat little Etsy shop called Hedwig the White Owl which offers fun handmade gift tags, tiny albums and a little jewelry on the side!
Colleen loves to scrapbook which shows in her work. Her different choice of tags range shoes to animals. Gift tags can be used is so many ways and are very personal in choice. Going over to a holiday open house or giving a gift for the office? Tags are a wonderful visual conversation piece. I love the the three bumblebee tags with the green background. I could see using them tied around a wine bottle or even as a napkin ring on a summer picnic! Why not use them for even a baby shower or better yet, the sexy shoes on a bachelorette party!
Hedwig the White Owl also has a very cute mini album. These little albums are 2.25"x2.5", accented with eyelets and tied with a coordinating ribbon. These little albums would be wonderful for a baby shower favor, bridal shower or even hanging on your Christmas tree. Write a personal note in it and add it to a gift or even have your child write or draw in it to give to a teacher. Very unique and oh so cute!

I am always looking for new ways to organize a handbag, diaper bag or even a back pack. The focus is always fabric, color, use and of course function. Cascade Lemonade has some fun, unique organizing cases with a little bit of warmth feeling when you pull it out to use it.

I really think that what you put on your baby for a bib is a completely personal choice. It can be cute, sassy, ornate, or just simply stated. Lillybelle Designs, an etsy shop of course, has that covered, and more!
I live in a household where politics is a common subject at the dinner table, after dinner, and over all of the relatives house! So of course since the Bugaboo Girl is not able to vote for a while, I sport her with a bib of my choice, which she obviously can make her choice when she can vote. Or if I want to get a rise out of a few of my relatives, pick the other political party bib to put her in. Always in good fun. What I love about Lillybelle Designs are the attention to details. The bibs are stitched very neatly with a rickrack design, two button adjustment and a soft chenille backing. Her items also come packaged neatly wrapped with a ribbon and a thank you card. Appearance means everything and this shop has it! Check out lillybelle Designs Personalized Bib selection, a perfect gift for a first birthday, Christmas or baby shower!

Last week I posted about my neighbor with no water waiting to get her well dug. This week it has gotten much worse!
We had a line of thunderstorms and heavy rain come through Saturday night. About 4am, there was a flashing light sitting in our driveway and looked like it was the fire department. Nothing like seeing a strobe for an hour through the windows. Then we heard trucks the rest of the morning, load speakers, engines and people yelling. When I went out to get the paper at 7am, there were three utility trucks about 200 feet from my house, looked like they were working on a transformer possibly blown.
Went down to my in-laws house for breakfast and a few errands. My husband met up with us there and come to find out, there was a power surge. My neighbor Joanie was having her appliances blowing, outlets smoking, fuses going....a very scary situation and has now no electricity! She was suppose to be having the person come and dig the well today, I hope so since I can only imagine the weather turning to a cold snap within a week! No furnace, no water, no electricity. She manages to keep a good attitude, I don't know if I could be that way.

Did you ever want to know how to "sizzle with some salsa moves"(#200) or "banish imaginary monsters"(#308)? This is the book for you! Show Me How, 500 Things You Should Know by Derek Fagerstrom and Lauren Smith is not just any guide but one that uses narrative pictures to describe how to do these such things!
I sat down and read the whole book on a Friday night and in a nut shell thought it was fun, very neat and well organized. They have broken down their information into eleven categories such as Eat, Style and Grow. The beginning of the book describes how best to read the book with an icon guide and also a few notes basically stating to be smart when attempting these activities. Don't let some of my examples fool you on the how much of a resource this book really is! There are great tips in this book such as removing gum from a child's hair(#309) and bait and cast a fishing hook(#401). Either way, there is something for everyone and yes a great conversation piece with those who say "I can do that".
Show Me How is available for pre-order or you can purchase it starting 10/28/08.
