Game on...potty training is here!

I feel like I have been procrastinating on potty training, but I really have not. I chose to do the change from crib to big girl bed first since my daughter was not happy with her crib. This has been successful and I am glad I did it. Now I have decided to go cold turkey, stop the diapers and just do it!
I started by telling my daughter a couple of days prior that we were not buying anymore diapers, I only had so many left and that was it. Each day I was priming her for the day we did not have anymore diapers and moving on to using the potty. I decided not to use the personal small potty, personal choice. Nothing against anyone else who uses them, I just feel that if they cannot use a regular toilet, then how will they feel going on any other toilet, like at a mall or even a friends home. This way I am not carting around a potty with me in my already gypsy wagon of a vehicle!
Day one came, I added a twist to the training, some incentive. It is not enough to get to wear big girl pants so I pulled out a Hello Kitty Sticker book, 700 Hello Kitty stickers to choose from and made a chart of her first weeks progress. For every time she uses the potty, she can choose one sticker to put on the chart, two if she poops(the real major problem she has with this training). Well she LOVED that idea, the chart, the stickers, it went over with a bang! Suddenly she was telling me she had to use the potty, to get a sticker of course. We did very good on day one, only one pee accident. I consider that a great start to this whole process, will keep you posted!

That's great; yippee for stickers!
I did the same as you, I started mine out on the real potty for the same reasons you are. In my case, using a kids potty just seemed to add one more step to the process; weaning them off of the small potty then.

Sheez. She sure has grown in the time I've "known" her!
