Aloha Friday

It has been a while and I am glad to be back on aloha Friday! I feel I need to get back into the groove.....wishing it was the island groove but for now I will go with what I have. So here is my question.......

What changes have you made for yourself in the new year?

Me....I am doing baby steps. I felt like I was drinking at least 3-4 cups of coffee a day and I know I was drinking my daughter's whole milk with it in cereal and coffee. So I have gone to only one cup of coffee a day and skim milk. I figure I will do something on more of a monthly basis than make a huge list of resolutions for the whole year, much easier to measure.

Creative time

Just so you see what some of my knitting time has been, here are two of my handbags I made recently. The green with black shoulder bag was a gift and the small hand bag is probably going to be for me. I am having fun making these felted bags and surprised on how it takes hardly any time to do so. Thought of selling them but not sure how much I would offer them. I also made a hat, gave it to my mother-in-law and she loved it. I need to grab a picture of it.

I am currently knitting a few more bags, got lots of ideas. I like adding an antique pin to them for my personal touch. Although, if you look closely at the shoulder bag, I embellished it with tiny pearl buttons, that took a lot of time!

I should be up and running by the end of the week, thanks for checking up on me!

Just so you know......

Hi! I am still here, just have not been available to get on the computer. We have three computers in our house, all with a few issues and to top it off, we decided to sign up with a new network. Right now, my husband is trying to get them all running, install new software and get back on track. If your day job is an IT position, than this would be done in a day. Needless to say, he is not but is knowledgeable enough to get it done.

So what is new while I have your attention? Christmas is over, New Years is past and now we settle on starting up a whole new year. I, like everyone else, felt like I was non stop with the holidays from thanksgiving until this past weekend. Not to mention my husband was home for two weeks in between Christmas and New Year's, he went back today. Is it me or does it seem like cleaning is twice as much along with cooking and chores during that two week period? I also felt like I was eating more than usual during the big spread of time between the holidays. I feel like I have to focus on going back to eating basics such as one cup of coffee a day instead of three to four and no cookies, cakes or desserts every night! I did check myself today and seemed to have gained only 2 pounds, must have been the chocolate mousse cake at the in-laws house we ate for at least four meals! In the end I had a wonderful Christmas and a quiet New Year's Eve. Some great pictures to come and amusing stories, one being putting together a kitchen set at 3am Christmas eve. I know I am not the only one who did this!!!!! Was anyone else up at this time doing the same?

Well my time is up and I still have a lot to say but will hopefully get back by the end of the week.
