In case you were wondering....

Potty training has been super good! It was easier than I expected and really not messy at all. Of course we have a few accidents but very few and my daughter is now telling me when she needs to use the toilet, yea!
Bribery did not get me that far and worked in the very beginning, the stickers only lasted a day and the tiny marshmallows lasted for two days, but every once in a while she reminds me she gets a tiny marshmallow for going on the potty. No big deal. When we went to the beach a few days ago, she asked me to use the toilet, most kids just pee right in the water. I was happy to bring her to the bathroom, thank fully they had them there.

I am happy to say.....NO MORE DIAPERS!

Future architect

My daughter has been into building things lately, must be the inspiration from helping me with the rock wall. Here she is putting seaweed around her mini sand castle.

keep away

Not the type of jelly you would want on your sandwich. My daughter's first siting of a Jellyfish, they were all pretty small and she brushed it off like everything else as no big deal. Of course to all of the other kids slightly older than her at the beach, they had to scream "jellyfish" when they saw one and let everyone know it. Oh the memories.......

Adaptation and Darwinism

I am sure your first reaction would be "Oh that poor little bird, it is missing part of it's leg!" That was my reaction, for a split moment. Then I thought of Darwinism. Survival of the fittest. Sure this bird lost part of it's leg maybe by a bluefish, a tangled fishing line or even could have been born that way. The fact that it seemed to have adapted to this situation is what I find amazing. It was scurrying around with the same species on the beach, as they all do, eating along the waterline. I only wish that it had a tracking band around the leg so if ever seen again, it could be recorded. Good luck little sandpiper, you seem to be doing just fine.

V-Moda Vibe II with Microphone

My ipod has a wide range of music. I LOVE Frank Sinatra, can listen to him anytime, but my music can range from Metallica to Johnny Cash. I know I am not the only one who has this range of music. With that diversity, I like to have the sound be crisp, clear, and no outside noise! How about having the same functionality with a headset for phone calls, it is here! The V-MODA's Vibe II with Microphone does all this.

V-MODA's Vibe II with Microphone is a sleek hands-free microphone with a call/music control button. Earbuds are always an issue with me and I happen to love these ear buds which are made with soft silicone which reduces the outside noise, letting me enjoy my Sinatra or the call from my mom. With the earbuds, there always seems to be an issue with holding it on the ear. These come with a detachable earhook that are made from a flexible substance, allowing the headphones to be independently adjusted to the ear.
So enough of the technical info.......how do these feel? I used these headphones in my car while my daughter's Zoo Train music was on, this is her latest music love where I so desperately miss listening to my music. The phone call I took was clear, sounded good and did not hear "Monkey See, Monkey Do" in the background which helped me concentrate not only on the road but also on the call.
My other test drive was a power walk at a local park. Generally the ear buds eventually fall out while I am walking, become uncomfortable after a while. This did not happen with the V-MODA Vibe II, the stayed in, were comfortable and sounded good. I think the benefit is they come with four sizes of silicone fittings to fit any size ear. I do not know any other that allows this customization.
Over all, the V-MODA Vibe II with Microphone is a very cool headset and passes my test for comfort, ease of use and quality of sound. You can buy this item at Apple.com in Nero(black)and is priced at $119.

The early blight

With all the rain we have had, it has effected our tomatoes resulting with the a very bad case of the early blight. This fungus has hit all of our plants and we will have a horrible tomato crop this year. This fungus causes the leaves to yellow, shrivel up than fall off. It is not pretty as you can see. Where did it come from? The news states that it was brought into the state by "box stores" bought tomato plants. And if you do not have it but a neighbor's garden does, you can get it. As much as we have done crop rotation, mulching, and getting rid of the infected plants, we get this blight every year. The rain just brought it on much quicker.
