When you find out you are an expectant mom, you seem to kick in to high gear and start taking extra care of yourself. This can be something as simple as taking vitamins, scheduled doctor visits, watching what you eat or adding a daily exercise routine. When I found out I was pregnant, I had plans prior to paint a bedroom, that of course had to be put on hold. Then there is getting ready for your new member of the household. whether it is setting up the baby room, putting plug covers on the outlets or even moving cleaning solutions to an out of reach spot, we find ways to take care and prepare for a baby arrival. Once the bay is born, often overwhelm takes over and we often need to take a check on how to protect them from germs and illnesses. Disinfecting teething toys, hard surfaces, changing tables and other potential germ developing areas is a priority.
The What to Expect Foundation (which takes its name from Heidi Murkoff's best-selling What to Expect series) just developed the "What to Expect Healthy Home Growth Chart" with a grant from The Clorox Company. What is great about this chart is it is a fallow up to the "What to Expect: Guide to a Healthy Home" that gives you tips on stages of the first five years of your child's life. Reading ahead of what to expect with your child is very exciting and keeps you in check on what you have to prepare for. Stuffed animals are loved by all ages and I always wondered how to clean them, the answers are here! Some of the other tips are:
- Disinfecting different types of toys at each age
- How to keep germs out of your home
- Daily must do's such as washing hands
This book and chart helps you get that jump start on each age, making your home more healthier for all.
I wrote this review while participating in a blog campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Clorox and the What to Expect Guide and received a gift card to thank me for taking the time to participate.
