Clorox What to Expect Healthy Growth Chart

When you find out you are an expectant mom, you seem to kick in to high gear and start taking extra care of yourself. This can be something as simple as taking vitamins, scheduled doctor visits, watching what you eat or adding a daily exercise routine. When I found out I was pregnant, I had plans prior to paint a bedroom, that of course had to be put on hold. Then there is getting ready for your new member of the household. whether it is setting up the baby room, putting plug covers on the outlets or even moving cleaning solutions to an out of reach spot, we find ways to take care and prepare for a baby arrival. Once the bay is born, often overwhelm takes over and we often need to take a check on how to protect them from germs and illnesses. Disinfecting teething toys, hard surfaces, changing tables and other potential germ developing areas is a priority.

The What to Expect Foundation (which takes its name from Heidi Murkoff's best-selling What to Expect series) just developed the "What to Expect Healthy Home Growth Chart" with a grant from The Clorox Company. What is great about this chart is it is a fallow up to the "What to Expect: Guide to a Healthy Home" that gives you tips on stages of the first five years of your child's life. Reading ahead of what to expect with your child is very exciting and keeps you in check on what you have to prepare for. Stuffed animals are loved by all ages and I always wondered how to clean them, the answers are here! Some of the other tips are:

  • Disinfecting different types of toys at each age

  • How to keep germs out of your home

  • Daily must do's such as washing hands

This book and chart helps you get that jump start on each age, making your home more healthier for all.
I wrote this review while participating in a blog campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Clorox and the What to Expect Guide and received a gift card to thank me for taking the time to participate.

Kellogg's Cinnabon Snack Bar

I have a toddler who is always on the go. If she is not painting, drawing or playing with her Little People, than she wants to go fishing, swimming or pick vegetables in the garden. Many times food is an after thought for me while I am trying to just keep up. Cannot imagine having more than one her age, more power to you for those who have this! I am always looking for something new as a quick snack, and of course it has to be "tasty". I recently tried the new Kellogg's Cinnabon Snack Bar and found them to be just that.......tasty!
The Kellogg's Cinnabon Snack Bar definitely taste like a cinnamon bun, without the calories and fat of eating one. Each bar has 150 calories, and 4.5g of Fat, perfect for a little indulgence. They have a pie crust like outside with the cinnamon filling and cream cheese frosting. I think the size of the bar is pretty generous, not a tiny serving size. What I found great was warming them up in the microwave, this enhanced the flavors even more! A good "take a moment" or a "grab one to go" snack.
What is your "on the go" or "take a moment" need? I plan on packing some up to go on our vacation, stuck in the car for 11 hours and needing some sustenance...this will be perfect!

Dragon flies are not sewing needles

As a child, I was afraid of dragon flies. I remember we use to call them "sewing needles" and that they could sew your mouth up! Who knows where I picked that up from, silly! Now I am making sure I point out to my daughter all of the fun things about wild life. When I happened upon this dragon fly resting on the ferns, took the opportunity to let her see one up close. More colorful up close than watching them fly in the air. Like everything else new to her, she thought it was very neat!
